I didn't know they could grow that much per day! I thought my 20 or so pounds a day was good!!! I'd be crossing fingers, toes, legs and anything else I could find! Best of luck to you vic!!!

I had a 50 pound day last year (day 39) on my 1144 Hester. It was split the next morning. It weighed 851 pounds on day 40. It was an exciting ride, with an abrupt ending.

Thats interesting Vineman, the mother of vic's plant was the 1144 Hester!

The 1144 is a screamer. It hasn't been grown a lot, but I think it is pretty hot. Pete Glasier grew an 1195 from one two years ago.

Usually takes me 3 days or more for that kind of weight gain so....dang...that is awesome.

once we are down to our choosen fruit we measure only once a week ( well almost always -lol ) sometimes by measuring every day you can get a false read - meaning if the tape is not exactly in the same place and you are measuring daily one day you run out of the patch jumping for joy, the next you could be discusted and in wonder of what happened? is she slowing down? is she going down ? avoid all this by measuring once a week ( most of the time - lol pap

Great response Pap, I dont measure everyday for that reason. The fruit dont grow evenly in a 24 hr time period. The fruit can go a few days with little gains and then try to make up for it or get a surge of growth. I like the 7 day and then take an average. I seem more relaxed now that i do it this way. LOL.
