How many growers on this site will be attending the Port Elgin weighoff? Who organizes it? I would like to see if we can get some of those patches for 1000+ at that weighoff.

There are over 50 growers that attend the Port Elgin weigh off every year. Most don't post on here though. It is organized by the local Chamber of Commerce. It will be held on the thanksgiving weekend. The top 10 weights for the past two years have been well over 1000#. It's a great day for the growers & the spectators. Why don't you make the trek up with you pumpkin. We'll be there.

Yeah, I will be there for sure. Savio and I will be splitting on a truck rental. Hopefully my pumpkin will be decent. See you then.

Even if you don't reach 1000 its still worth the effort to attend Port Elgin. The expierence gained networking with the GVGO growers is priceless.

While your at it plan to attend the Cornerstone weigh-off on September 15th. Located on hwy 400 just south of Barrie. Last years event was filled by top growers from Ontario, Quebec and New York St.
