I'm new to bigpumpkins, I was wondering, who started this pumpkin site, who runs it, who keeps it running. Thanks

I believe that Ken runs it and keeps it going, and that must be a full time job. This site is well designed, and very user friendly, and I wonder how much disk space is being used and what type of bandpass, and hardware is in use. If those in the know would like to share that, that would be way cool.

no one really knows.
Through out time people asked for an informative site, where growers could talk and trade ideas from across continents.
One day big pumpkins appeared on the screen while a few teenage boys surfed the web in thier parents absence.
Word spread like wild fire about the superb pumpkin growing site and it eventually became what it is today.
some people belive it was created by the pumpkin gods to help guide us, while others without faith believe it was the inevitable result of the combination of giant pumpkins and the internet.

It is also know that a guy named Glenn Andrews has always had bad luck growing pumpkins on this site, check all the way back into the search engine on this site when Glenn was only 4 years old and growing pumpkins, you will see that a ground hog has taken his plants down from that day foward untill now.

Ken Derosriers & John Neary used to work together & also grew pumpkins at their respective homes here in CT. John has since changed employers & is presumed to not be growing. Ken is still with the same computer firm & they generously provide the bandwidth we use. Ken was our state record holder for a year at 840 lbs but probably isn't growing this year since work is very busy & he recently had a knee (or some other part) replaced.
