I just endured my 1st hail storm while growing AG's.Shredded the big leafs punched holes through the smaller one's.This isn't turning out the way I imagined so far,and it's early yet. Luckily I had shaded the females! It got pretty nasty for awhile there, I guess it could be a lot worse! I hope those plants in the storms path faired well. Scoops, Newfane Vermont.

hang in there scoops,,,these plants are tougher than you think,,not knowing the size of yours,, mine filled in well and the new growth will carry them,,,,

Had over 10 hail storms where I am so far this year, and even had one day which was the forth of july where we had three seperate storms with hail one at noon, another around 3:00pm, and another at 7:00pm, talk about a way to celebrate the fourth with a bang. Here where I live no hail protection = no pumpkin growing. Your plants will die, as Colorado is brutal when it comes to hail. Happy Growing.JK

Hang in there Scoops. We had hail on July 1st 2003. Still ended up with some decent pumpkins. Maybe you will have to steal one of the boys pumpkins, I am sure Ben won't mind. LOL We are all just one hail storm away from a ruined season. As Dan said, the plant will amaze you with new growth. I am sure you will find a way to beat me this fall.
