I have one pumpkin that was set on June 22. I know that the golden window is July 1 -10. My weighoff is Oct 13. Do you think that I pollinated too early or will this pumpkin break down before the weighoff?

It seems a little early but I wouldnt worry. I had one pollinate about the same time and it stayed in good shape all the way past halloween. I would but water in bags when its done at put vines in the bags of water. I wish weighoffs were actually a little later closer to Halloween.

How long can the pumpkin be safely left on the vine once it has stopped growing? My best pumpkin so far was pollinated June 16th. The weigh-off is September 29th.

According to my license plate NJ is the Garden State. Of course they must be referring to South Jersey since North Jersey is the home of the Sopranos and I don't recall any gardens in their yards.
