Ray, do females on a long gourd plant only show up on the secondaries and not the main vine?

And do you dead end the main when it gets to a certain lenght to force the secondaries to grow if only females show up on secondaries.

Last thing, what vine on the plant do you like your long gourd to grow off of or does it matter?
