After reading some of the postings the question I have is can I cut the male flowers and keep them in the refrigerator until needed and how long will they last. I have a female flower will the flower be soft a day before it opens or is there another way to tell?
Thanks for any help!

"pucker" meaning you will see a touch of yellow at the tip of the blossum,,the males should be picked the night b4 and kept at room temp inside in water. (The refrigeration thing is being discussed on another post here.) Cover that "puckered" female with nylon,,baggie,,cheesecloth. Let the males fully open in the morning(warm sun in a window) and if possible do the pollination around 9-10am,,,the female should be open at her peak and the pollen will be prime in that time frame. You can fudge it earlier if work is scheduled and you should be fine.
and why do they call you chicken legs?
