Could deformed female lobes indicated lack of calcium, and Is there a diffrance between females on the main or on the side vine, or between females close to the stump or further out...i had some funny looking lobes on some females, almost looking exploded, while others where good.

i dont know what causes them cook but id rather not use them unless i absolutely had to.
deformed segments can lead to deformed and indented pumpkins where seed pockets do not develope

The 898 is throwing some weird females as well. I'm not sure they're deformed or not, and they have five evenly developed lobes, but the gap between lobes is much larger than I've ever seen. Pollen falls right through them to the base of the stamen

I had a deformed 5 1/2 lober(I think?) this morning. It took me awhile to figure out the lobes count. Are half lobes possible?

I had a 6 lobe female on my 1231 Pukos. It had 5 almost perfect lobes then a 6th on the outside of one of the others. The flower also opened in the EVENING. Go figure as it was the one in the perfect spot. Par for the course here. I did pollinate the next morning and it appeared to take. It will likely cull.
