Hi everyone, I am a 2nd year grower in MA with no luck last year. This year we happen to have pet rabbits from the Topsfield, MA fair in October in a hutch located near the garden. I have been composting their pellets for the past year in a big pile with wood mulch, etc., and don't plan to use any of that until next year (had a good source of 2 year old horse manure and 3 year old mulch worked in this year).
My dumb question regards a grower diary post I read calling pet rabbits "vine pruners" seemingly in a positive sense, when in most other grower diary entries everyone else wants to get rid of wild rabbits ... can I feed to my rabbits any parts of my plants that I want to get rid of?

I was kind of joking when i put that line in my diary, but my rabbit is allowed in the garden. He won't touch the pumpkin plants for some reason, but will eat the weeds.
Personally, I wouldn't feed cuttings to the rabbits just in case they escape and head for the garden. They'll already have a taste for it. I definitely wouldn't feed it to them if you've been using chemicals on the plants.

Andy is right they do not prefer pumpkin vines. Now a ripe pumpkin is another story.
