I hear more about plant behind the fruit. How much plant do you need after the pumpkin to get that really big one?

David I like to see five side vines after or about 8ft.
The biggest I've grown terminating right after is 992lbs.

we lrave every other side after the fruit and let the main grow until ariound mid september. it helps if suddenly you loose half the plant before the pumpkin.
