Had tornados touch down west of me on wednesday in the mountains between 8000 and 9000 ft altitude, and did destruction. The clouds raced down the mountain and were very ominous looking. Funnel clouds everywhere all around my house then the hail came. I have hail protection but not tornado protection. Thank God the storm passed swiftly by, as there could have been more than loss of pumpkins, but loss of life and property. I had a camera in one hand and a leg pointed toward running toward the basement. Hope we do not get a repeat on thurs. and hope as this system goes east it will spare folks of the tornado and hail wrath...Happy Growing

James, Saw that cell on the News. Thoughts were with you guys. Wow tornados at that altitude are not suppose to happen. Glad to hear it missed you.

James, Somehow I can picture you out in your patch trying to tie rocks down to the vines in case the tornado passed through . . . Glad it missed you!

Thanks guys hope myself and no one else here in Colorado have to see things like that here again this season. When you see blue and green clouds swirling around you forget the pumpkins, as then things look life threatening....Happy Growing
