OK Texas, Oklahoma, and any other state complaining about the excess of rain..I would just like enough to make the ground wet..a full day off soaking rain would be exceptable.
Hard to grow these darn things when it is "dry as a popcorn fart".

We're in the same boat here Shannon. Looks like early next week is the next chance of rain for us. I've used overhead sprinklers to keep the plants happy. An all day soaker would be awesome!

I hope my mom has been watering the plants, it sounds like it's pretty dry up there. Apparently there's huge floods in Chicago but we didn't get much rain 30 miles west of there.

I'm cutting back on other watering, the twins are only getting pop and juice, no baths at all. The lawn is dead. The dog runs to the local pond for refreshment, as I do when I need to clean up. What's left in the rain barrels is basically powdered algae, good for the compost heap I guess. I'm piping the condensation of the AC to the barrels tonight. Does anyone know if urine is good for AG's?

Hot and dry in Somers, CT. I just put in an irrigation system last fall and piped a 1" line and faucet to the patch. Nice cold clean well water is good for days like this. Plants look good, much better than last year. Trying to keep the plants stress-free. Other than seed selection and not stepping on the main bud, this is the one lesson I have learned.

Ok Shannon You can have some of the rain we have been getting. I will even throw in the wind and hail. 15 days straight with rain here. Last yr we had 30 some odd days over 100° This yr we have already had 30+ inches of rain since Jan. Most of it has been since I planted my plants..LOL

And then the rains came, hard and fast along with penny size
hail. My plants look like they were hit with a large shotgun.

Jon you are way to kind to offer the rain, hail and wind in one package. I am afraid at the moment I can only afford the rain.

I would say we are in the same boat, except that would imply we have water to float on, which we don't. To add insult to injury, we recently finished construction over the winter, finished the hard landscaping, and put in hydroseed two weeks ago.

Absolutely no dice, we are dry as a desert outside.

And, no joke, we were rained out of at least half the weekend sports games for our kids over April and May, with basement flooding, which is no fun either. So I guess I will shut up.
