Hello, today is a sad day Damn!! I have lose the stump of my 500 Wallace, and 1173 Macari I think that it is not fusarium, because the plants are not collapse, but just them, have the first two leafes on the stump, of brown color and burned, when I have cut the base of the stunp, it in was brown too, now I have cut the mine vine untill it seem sound ( three knots ahead)and the plant can to go with the secondary root Now, my question is someone know some growers that grew some good pumpkins with out mine stump? any 900 to 1000 lbs with this problem there in USA or Canada? thanks for the reply Sergio

sERGIO, I grew one with out a stump from July 31, Untill October, look at my last years diary. There is a few pictures of the 1068 Wallace I grew last year on no stump, everything was grown past the pumpkin.
heres one of the links to a pic http://www.bigpumpkins.com/Diary/DiaryViewOne.asp?eid=55498

serg i dont know how big your pumpkins are but we have had several occasions in the past where we have removed the stump and quite a few sides and still grew from 200 to over 900 pounds with what was left of the plant pap
