There seems to be a lot of agreement on this site that secondaries should be kept at around 12 feet. Does this include the secondaries that are within the first 18" of the stump. It seems that these could be "power boosters." thanks KathyT

Depends on who you ask. This year, I'm going with Quinn Werner's method of allowing all sides at 12' up to the fruit. After the fruit, allow sides to the end of your patch, then terminate. Allow the main to continue afterward with no sides.

And the power booster theory is the idea in this case too. A "push" from both directions.
