I checked on him about a month ago. He said he was doing ok considering age & health issues. For health reason he wouldn't be growing giant pumpkins. I wish he would start posting again.

When I first started growing I did not know squat about
soil biology. Doc's posts made me start thinking and researching organic soil building. I now have the best soil I have ever had. Doc if your out there we would like to have you back. Best wishes .....Kirk

Dwaine and I keep in touch and hopefully he is reading these well wishing messages to him.

He is a great source of information and I don't know of someone who researches and then practices what he has learned so that he may pass it on to others.

There were a few folks here that like to take shots at the Doc when he was just trying to help and I think that it took some of the wind out of his sails and his enthusiasm for this site.

I always enjoyed his postings and more often than not there was something to learn....would love to meet him in person some day.
