Here I been worried about growing my pumpkin for 111. And Ben grew his pumpkin 130 days. His diary says 130 DAP
How did you do that Ben? You have very hot weather over there. Did your pumpkin have 100% evening shade?

I thought DAP meant days after pollination======not days after germination???????
So the entries confused me, cant tell if its after pollination or after germination

Crickets,
Ben grew my 754 seed. His pumpkin grew for around 77 days. In hot weather, that is about as long as they grow. Most pumpkins in hot southern areas grow around 60 to 77 days. Good luck!

Several use dap as after pollinaton. since it seems to be confusing===obviously for me, Ill just write my words out.
Thanks for correcting my ignorance. I feel like a dummy most of the time.

Crickets,
I did a lot of reading of scholarly articles and they all used DAP = Days After Planting. I assumed it was a standard but then again I have never seen anyone on this site use it.
For my fruit age, I just used the term: "Day XX"
In regards to what I did, I am glad to offer any assistance I can. What specifically do you want to know? Just an FYI, our heat is different. Why? Because we have such low humidity. That along with heat is torture on leaves.

thanks Ben. Im just trying to figure out how to grow in all this heat and low humidity. We are not as hot as AZ but its up there. 97 the past few days. Forgot what rain looks like too.
Just so I understand DAP==is that after transplanting? or after germination? or from the sow date?
