Well.....they don't look familiar to me-- the grouping is off for svb's, the size and location of eggs is off for squash bugs...too big/color/location wrong for aphids, whiteflies/mites or anything other that typ[ically bothers us....so..............based upon the opinion that Momma bug will lay eggs where there's ample food for its newly hatched babies I think I'd wipe them off. Either Momma thinks juniors will like pumpkin plants or Momma knows something you don't (like theres ample other bugs to eat on your plant that you don't see). Either way I'd wipe them off and spray just in case. (warrior T, talstar, any general target insecticide).....just my 2 cents.

Squash bugs. Definitely kill them! I think most people gently scrape them off and "squash" them! lol I'm not sure if spraying insecticide on them will kill them. Anybody know if spraying the eggs will kill them?

This is the first year for our garden, and too my knowledge there has never been a garden here or the surrounding homes.
Are Squash bugs just everywhere? What do they live on if no squashes? Same question for vine borers..

Hi, A squash bug is the same thing a lot of people call a stink bug. Have you ever saw any of them around your house? I have a new patch that is 5 or 6 hundred yards from my old patch and I saw a squash bug in it yesterday. I was hoping it would take them longer to find the new patch than that. If you don't control them they will take you out of business. Take care, Doug JN. 3:16

Here's a good way to get em' when you do find Squash Bug Eggs... (usually found on underside of the leaves) Roll a bit of Duct Tape -sticky-side-out- around yer' first three fingers and then just roll it, dab it, gently against the mass of eggs... gets em' pretty good.

If you get a good infestation of them eggs will be everywhere... Top and bottom...Bifen or any of the newer generation synthetic pyrethroids work good. Be sure to spray under the canopy. You can also get some bifen grannuels and sprinkle on the ground under the canopy and perimiter of the plant. Since sqash bugs walk on the ground in amongst the plant this will help also.

They hatch in drones and you will find your leaves will turn brown and die.

I've seen many squash bugs on my plants. They don't seem to eat much. Does anyone agree that cuke beetles do MUCH more damage?

Squash Bugs take seedlings out pretty quick as I learned a few years ago. They also vector virus, wilts, etc.
Bad mojo to have anything chewing on the plants. Especially an isect that moves frorm plant to plant.
