When you have to prune a leaf a vine or something how do you do it? for example how much of a leaf stem do you leave on how many inches from main or make a flush cut?... also wont trimming something make rot enter into the wine? just wondering..because im going to have to prune soon.

Flush as you can. Some folks dust each cut with Captan powder. I never have but maybe we've been lucky.

Like Steve said, I use an exacto knife...nice and sharp and a good even cut.

So flush cut for any and all trimming? Don't leave a little nub? I ask too, because I had some Deer trim mine for me, and I need to finish the job on the damaged leaves.

Keep in mind that using sharp objects can be dangerous. One little slip can leave a big slice in a main or secondary. I've noticed no difference between finger pinching and cutting....in my short time growing these things.
