Hello to all. This is my 2nd year growing giant pumpkins; last year I didn't work as hard to grow a big one but I ended up with a 350 lber. I didn't keep the seeds but I have some seeds from 1999...can anyone tell me if the ones from '99 will still be good to use this year? Also, I live in California, does anyone know when's the best time to start my seeds indoors? I've heard 120 days before you want to harvest for competition.

I heard that seeds will stay good for atleast six years, i would think that you would be able to keep seeds as long as ten years or perhaps even longer if conditions are right, as long as seeds are kept dry and cool i think they will stay good for a very long time. ~Wildbill

you just want to test germinate at least a couple weeks before you are planting for the big one so that you know the seeds are viable this doesn't work if you have only one expensive seed in that case pray
