Hello, I found stump rot last night. What are the normal steps to combat this problem? Not sure but it might be from to much water. Doug Jn. 3:16

Make sure stump is not buried if rot has started. Completely uncovered. Remove some leaves to get proper air flow in there. Cover with umbrella to make sure no more water goes on the stump. Maybe give a light misting of a fungicide when there is plenty of time in the evening to dry before dark. Make sure you bury all nodes since you can still have a stumpless wonder. Finally, pray to the pumpkin gods.

I used Bordo copper fungicide worked great and stump is coming back. had lost 1/2 of it but the 1/2 that is left is thickening up with the vine. had a few leaves burn off at first though due to a lack of water getting to them for about a week, fine now

Doug we get that problem as well and this year it showed up on one of the 1502 plants. We put a small fan on the stump and the problem has gone the day after.
