Subject: Newer pumkins going soft

We have a very active patch. We have had 3 pumknins over a 24 hour period sudenly go a lighter yellow(about 14 inches in circumference) and go soft. Any suggestion to ensure this does not happen to the rest of the patch. We're in Southern Cal.

Wes, sometimes pumpkins abort, for no apparent reason, this can happen all the way up to beach ball size. you should be ok

I had the same problem last year. This year I am using a styro cooler w/ice bottles under it at pollination time. So far so good. Peace, Wayne
