We had a bad storm with high winds go through last night and it damaged my 1093 Hunt plant quite bad. The main vine was about 30" long and just about to hit the ground and already had a small break in the vine. Well now it has a large break and I can't see it rebounding. I did notice that another vine is coming right out of the stump, should this be considered a double vine scenario and should I just cut the other one of and go with the new one. Please lend some advice one this.
Thanks, Kirk

Kirk, The vine coming out of near the "stump" is likely a secondary. You can train this as the new main, if the main is no longer a viable option.

The crack is not length wise is it across the main. We just returned home after a night away and the main is still growing fine, I just don't want it to end up rotting in a few weeks. I have put some sulphur paste on it and it seems quite dry and as sturdy as it can get. ??????????

Kirk, I had the same problem with a plant a few weeks ago. The stem split cross ways about an inch above dirt. I used 2 twist ties (one on either side of the break) to hold it together and applied Captan paste. It healed up fine and the plant is doing great. Don't give up on it!!!

Kirk, I had a cross ways split on my 957 LaRue a couple weeks ago too.....I left it and she seemed to grow great but after talking to numerous growers with more experience I got a general consensis that this early cutting the split was the way to go.I decided to cut it and she is growing great again. Good luck!
