A nice little storm with high winds just went through and lasted about 25 minutes, high winds and the whole sh-bang. I'm looking out my window as the winds just died down and see my 604 Bosworth laying on its side and my 1295 Jutras looks to have taken just a light beating. All my other plants look good from the window but it kinda scares me to go down and take closer look.
Anyone else get hit by the storm?

Had high winds a couple of days ago. The leaves and stalks got beat up some. Minimal damage in the scheme of things here. I hope your plants are doing O.K. Brooks.

Thats good Nic, I used to live in Lancaster and did cable in your (Pataskala) area about 12 years ago(Continental Cable Vision). Seemed like when it stormed in your area and the Lancaster area it didn't mess around because the areas are so flat.

Had some bad wind here yesterday, but No rain at all! It is pretty amazing when you start getting so dry the weeds dont even grow!LOL As for the plants the only real damage I had was the main of my 606 Clark being broken and I already have a very strong secondary going in it's place.

Dodged it here Brooks. I had anticipated it here all day. Got a few sprinkles, and sun came out at about 5:00.

burrhead - I'm in the same boat you are. I grow my plants with the main vine growing south and the hurrican winds here attacked me from west ripping my plants out and rolling them over. I had some good windbreaks and thought this would help. Our storms usually enter from the west but the windbreaks were no match. I have very little plant left and many broken vines. This is part of the game, so i wish all you other growers out there that have a great start so far this season, many calm days with plenty of sunlight. I will post my progress but i have a feeling it will be very slow with lots of weeding. LOL.

No rain in Delaware County. I was so scared, they had said we were going to have large hail. I went out and bought a couple of laundry baskets, but the only plant that would fit under them was the 1157 LaRue. Had the day off and spent it watching the NOAA weather channel. Pretty cool temps here now, in the high 50's.

Patch looks pretty good thank goodness, my 604's main vine was pulled up from the ground with the roots showing but nothing was broken, it was twisted a little but looks fine now after I fixed it. Two of my tallest leaves on my 1295 was broken off but other then that its fine .My 805 1180,and 1068 Wallace wasnt touched, I got them so well protected it makes my wife mad because she says its a eye sore looking out there with all them wind breakers around them, lol.

One more thing, the wind does some weird things, the plants that where hit is the plants I thought was gonna be well protected from the wind and the wind rarely blows that way, my barn and woods protects one side of them I thought, the wind was so strong it must have bounced off my barn and then hit the plants from the back side opposite of the way the wind was blowing.Weird.

Severe storms in the Netherlands as well with thunder and lightening, hail, wind and downpours. Two people have already been killed by the storm, lots of flooding and caved-in roofs. Supposed to hit my area in a few hours.

Very wierd weather patterns here in British Columbia too....just too much rain and a huge snow-pack that is now flooding alot of small towns. Rivers are overflowing and bursting over dikes.

Storm went right around our village. Tail end hit the village next to ours and we hardly got a drop of rain. Pretty weird how that works.
