The Pacific Northwest Giant Pumpkin Growers are planning a fundraiser this fall to support our club. We will produce a GIANT PUMPKIN CALENDAR for the year 2008. We hope to have photos of some of the best pumpkins and giant veggies grown in 2007 and will sell these professional-quality wall calendars to anyone interested.

First, we need photographers from all over to plan to submit photos no later than late October. We are looking for interesting photos, not just mug shots of winners with their pumpkins or gourds in front of the scales. In return, we will give 2 free calendars to each photographer whose photos are chosen. Please e-mail Lee at [email protected] to indicate if you are interested in contributing.

Second, who’s interested in a giant pumpkin calendar for next year? Please “Post Reply” below if you like this idea so that we can guesstimate how to proceed. The cost will be determined later with a high demand lowering the cost for everyone. If you are a club leader and would consider an economical bulk purchase, let us know.

Remember, you can always get one for work, home and several as gifts.

Thanks. Lee Roof - PNWGPG

a calander is a great ideal, something we have talked about doing ourselves here in the sngpg.
i like the idea of featuring a diffirent club (or clubs ) for each month.
also the more information you have on the calander the better it will sell.
hope this helps

Thanks everyone. I like Pap's suggestion. We will work towards producing a calendar that will feature as many different clubs as possible. We will need volunteers to send us photos, so please keep this in mind as you grow your big ones, go on patch tours, use your lifting rings and go to weigh-offs.
We do plan on making the year's winner be "Miss October" for 2008, as long as we get a good quality photo.

Pap, please email me at [email protected] for a few individual questions. Thanks.

Hey Lee, I think it was "Lawman" that had a really nice picture of the inside of a pumpkin blossom in his diary last year. Would make a really nice "Miss July".
