Realistically, and please dint consider this bragging on yourself, but what does everyone think they will grow this year? What do you think you will take to the scales?(Not what you wish you could bring to the scales) What kind of weight at the end of the season do you think all your hard work will bring? (REALISTICALLY)
I feel real good about this season and my Wallace soil, I think if mother nature cooperates I think I have a 950 to one a little over 1000 lbs in me this year. Now how about you?

I am thinking 1100 pounds, but it will probably be more in the 600 pound range when it hits the scales.. :o) One thing is for sure, it will be a very beatiful pumpkin! 1233 Reiss and 1048 Companion!

dont sell yourself or that 1068 short. with your soil well balanced, a good run from the chosen pumpkin and a little luck along the way, you could be the man to beat.
me personally? id say dont count out the rhode island tugs again this year. i think pete rondeau is going to give us all a run this year. hes paid his dues.

Realistically I think I have a shot at breaking 800 lbs. I'd like one that tapes 800+ and goes heavy(maybe 900+). It's quite early in the season, so this is a rough guess.

Last year I set my sights low at 800 lbs. and grew 1302. This year started out bad and my heart isn't in it. I think 900 lbs would be a realistic goal for me this year.Maybe that 1317 Bobier plant that Nic gave me will be the one. Time will tell.

I lost all of my plants and/or pumpkins last year (rotting and splitting) but I realistically think that if the weather is less severe than last year, I should be able to get at least one in the 800+ range. Last year I had one following the 1200 benchmarks quite well until the main rotted away and the pumpkin split.

If we have a good summer 1400 pounds here with the 1068's. 2003 and 2004 were both good years and grew the 1373 and 1327. I grew a 1208 last year on the 1068 and we had a cold spell for a week in late august. Shut the pumpkin right down. So I feel the 1400 pound range is attainable if the weather is good.

Ok, I have 6 plants, Combined parents weight = 5,876 pounds Using extremely advanced mathematical theory and taking into account wind speed and barometric pressure fluctuations my calculations show that I will definitely break the 600 pound mark! We'll just have to see how it works out...

I only know that our state record holder made a surprise visit to our Jareds patch.....I wonder Y? and he told me we have plenty of plants to take care of up there.....he is right......Im wanting a 1000 lbder this year, not sure If Colorado wants me to grow one though.....but Im not quiting....6 more plants go into the ground Tuesday night as public viewing plants hoping to catch a few more folks interested in trying it out. A still wondering why Joe made a very early visit......

Our patch best was last year, at 943 lbs. We seem to be off to a great start. We are feeling pretty good about breaking the 1000 lbs this year (with a little luck)! Our later plants are a little disappointing at this point, but there's lots of season left.

Hopefully around 800 pounds. Fantasy goal is to be in the top 10 at the OVGPG weigh off. That would probably put me at around 1100 to 1200 pounds.

It won't be a very good year here in Central Ontario. We had a deep freeze (24 F) in mid-May & lost most of our plants. We got some back-ups from some good friends, but the night time temps remained very cold (32-44F) up until a week ago & the poor plants didn't grow very much. The weather turned hot & the new plants were just starting to vine & now they're calling for a low the next 2 nights of 37 & 39 F, with a very good chance of frost. This has been one of the coldest spring we've had in all the years we've been growing. I don't think we'll be reaching a new PB this season. Good luck to all though.

This will probably be another year where I try too hard. I'm planning on watering like crazy once the pumpkin sets until my growth rate tops 30 lbs/day. I'll probably end out with heartbreak, however, and I'm predicting that at least one of my fastest growing pumpkins will blow up. My motto for the year is "Half Moon Bay with a 1200 Pounder or Bust!" I'll probably bust.
