What is it? I Have a vine split,(actually on two, 1125 Schaffer and 1177 Conley) heard so much about this captan. Do I buy it? Do I make it? Does he have crunch berries? Please help!

Captan can be found at most garden centers. It comes in powder form. Use maybe a couple tablespoons of powder (depending on size of split) and add just enough water to make it into a paste form. Most people use a small paint brush to apply it to the split. This can also be used on small splits on the fruit.

CityGirl,
I had a vine split this weekend. Couldn't locate captan. Spoke with a long-time grower. He suggested sulpher powder. Mix with a little water to make into paste, then apply. Worked great. If you can't locate captan "crunch with berries" , try sulpher powder. Good luck!

Chris,
Are your splits due to "leggy" plants not getting planted deeply enough?
