Here is a picture of my 1446.5 Werner:

Looks like a moster ribbon vine to me. Any thoughts?
It's about 2-3 times thicker than my other plants. Can anyone tell from this picture or the other ones in my diary if it might grow out of this? Any opinions as to surgery, pull it out, wait it out, etc.?
I'm tempted not to pull it out yet, as I was hoping to grow a big one off of this plant.

Hey Pete, Cool The temp down On the plant and roots, then lay some persistent water on the stump, but not to cause rot or disease. You could have way too high nitrogen in the root area...Flush ...Flush.If you get lucky it will straighten out I know that does not work when it is 35 to 45 degrees at night with severe weather and snow knocking on our colorado doors. If all fails including going with a back normal main, then I would rip it out. Hope you have a good backup..Best wishes, JK

just give it some time and be patient. Double vines can be corrected after the vine starts running a little farther. I grew a 1200#er on double vine plant. I think the extra thickness is actually better. best of luck

I would not call it a ribbon. Ribbons are flat. Like these guys have said patience is needed with a Double Vine they often correct themselves. Sometimes surgery is needed. Then they tend to produce nice pumpkins once whipped under control.
