I'm going to attempt something..it most likely will be a flop but who knows?? I have a spring that comes out of the ground and flows about 75 to the creek, the area that stays wet all the time is about 20' wide, right now I'm planning to set one plant at the head of the spring, allow one side to grow into the wet area and let one side grow on the dry side..I know for sure i'll never have to water the one side, i'm hoping this side will take up enough water to do the whole plant..I plan on having the main about 6 inches above the damp level..any ideas or suggestions?? thanks!!

You might run into root diseases if the roots stay wet too long. But you have nothing but a seed to lose & it might just surprise you! At least you won't need to water!

I'm doing the same thing up at our camp near Clarion, PA. I can't be there to water all the time, so this might work!

Why don't you use timers to do your watering for ya?
