Can they be grown in a box 30 x18 x 12 deep?
Would it be worth trying?

George,
I think anything would be worth trying. I didn't find the root system to be nearly as agressive as an AG. We also foliar fed more than we did our pumpkins due to the plant having no tap roots or atleast no tap roots near ground level. You may just need to be more sensitive to water in such a confined space.
Also took me a couple attempts before I got one pollinated, they wouldn't pollinate naturally for me. I would certainly put one in and have fun with it.

...maybe a new category George, shortguords...LOL! Give 'em a shot, they do have a pretty vigorous root system once established. You may find their roots in your AG patch when all is said an done. Duff

Go for it George! Roots don't seem to be the trouble with LGs. It's the above ground parts that I found hard to manage. We came home from vacation & found my garage & a nearby tree covered in vines.
