I've never had a double but fear that my 670 is starting out that way. Appears to have twin or double leaves coming in. Anyone with experience that, please have a look at my last posting in my diary and let me know. Thanks.

It looks like it could be double. My 1370 last year was double for the 1st 4 ft. and it grew out of it. Ended up with 1302 off it so I would not worry too much at this point. I also had a double vine on the 869 Calai and was able to correct it with surgery. This could be the start of a good growing plant.

Like Steve said double vines often fix themselves. Now a ribbon vine or a sprial vine is a different situation. I had a 869.5 Calai a few years ago...That thing twisted and turned so bad. Then threw male and female combination flowers. It was eventually culled.

Does not appear to be a double to me. It just looks like the vine tip is forming.

I think it is to early to tell. you should be able to tell one way or the other for sure in a couple of weeks.

From what I can tell, it looks normal so far.

Hi Glenn. My 842 Eaton started out as a double and then at 2 feet it split into 2 and I cut one vine off and it produced my 874 from last year. It's a little early to tell yet though.

Glenn, I'm not so sure if a double vine is that much to worry about anymore, Alot of growers have been growing some monsters off a double vine, Steve's 1302 and Jutras grew his 1295 off a double main. I know this sounds weird but I was kinda hoping for a double vine this year, but not really hoping a double would show up on any of competition plants, but as luck has it, I got my double, but not so lucky because its on my 982 Northrup plant. Its still gonna be fun to try to grow it out all the way to October. Its probably gonna be a mess of vines everywhere but I'm looking forward to messing around with it. It will break up the same Ole routine everyday.

Thanks for the replies and emails...very helpfull. I guess I won't sweat it for now and it sure is a nice plant so far. Brooks, you are right again and as Steve said, could be the start of a good growing plant...have to agree with him too.
Thanks again/Glenn
