I'm a rookie, is there a set standard on the growth rate of a seedling, or does it just drastically vary. I would think it varies alot. Is it safe to use miracle grow fertilizer on seedlings?
also, has anybody grown giant pumpkins in a partially shaded patch. The patch i tilled and prepped i just noticed only gets full sun till about 2p.m then it is partially shaded, how much will this affect it's growth?
Thanks alot for the help!

I know of no Champion grower who has used that product in the last four years.
Rookies have far more demons that haunt them than a 2 pm shadow.

Eric, Bill Foss broke the MN state pumpkin record last yr.(1213 lbs.), in a spot that looked like it would be shaded quite a bit(not sure the hours of sun it got). This surprised me. Maybe if Bill see's this, he'll give more info.

Stan called your shade "issues" with precision.

All he needs to do is a site search for "Rookie Mistakes". It could save him a lot of grief!
