Noticed yesterday that I had some leaf damage caused by a little yellow/black bug, smaller that a lady bug. By the time I got back this afternoon, I had one plant completed chewed up. What should I use to get rid of them. Last year I didn't have the problem.

I used Wilson "Ambush" insecticide with success last year but there are more prefered products other growers will advise you to use.The bottom line is to spray ASAP as the cuccumber beetle will wipe you out by appetite or virus.

Sevin does the trick nicely.

I also used Sevin, Mist the top and bottom of the plant and you'll find them dead real soon.. Worked like a charm...

cucumber beetles if not eliminated asap upon arrival will also cause the plant to develop bacterial wilt later in the season.

Sounds like the bugs are a bit early this year.

You can burn very easy on warm sunny days. Go easy and watch close.
