I have to embarrass Ben (hotpumpkin), if you don't know, this guy has put in a ton of work over 3 years in absolutely "tough" soil, water, and weather conditions in Arizona. Go check out his diary if you haven't and root him on. He is at 400 lbs estimated day 55, still growing 8 lbs a day. The Arizona State record is 385 lbs I believe. Keep it together Ben and get the record my friend! Jimmy

Good luck Ben I used to live in Apache Junction Arizona and in Mesa and growing anything in those climates is rough. Its a dry heat they say when its 105 plus its just darn hot.

Thanks Jimmy and all you others,
Now that everyone knows it, I can't let the fruit go down to late season damage and it can't go light. Let's see, out of those two things, I can't control either.
The pressure is on.

Ben keep up the sleepless nites. LOL. I think by the shape of your fruit, it will be on the heavy side. I dont think 600lbs is out of your range. Good Luck.

Looks like a ROCK Ben! You'll go the distance and set a new ARIZONA state record in the process. Congratulations and good luck! I'll raise a bottle of Alaskan Amber when the record falls.

Great job Ben! With all the work you have put into your patch and dealing with the water issues no one deserves it more than you. I thought I was a little on the extreme side when it comes to growing pumpkins but you look like the mad scientist out in his patch :-) But hey, looks like you have the state record so its all worth it. By the way, it looks to me like its going to be heavy! Keep that baby covered so the sun doesn't cook it!
