Ok, my seed leaves are really doing strange things. The leaves on the 1420 LaRue are perfect shaped, no problem. The 1180 Daletas came out with seed leaves curled up pretty much all the way around the leaf but color is dark green and the plant now has a second true leaf and is growing like mad! The 1446 Werner had seed leaves which curled from the end. They actually curled under however the plant is growing great. Is this an indication of improper lighting or heat during the germination process or what else could cause this? Could it be the way it came out of the seed shell?

Mark, I have been down this road and always got a variety of answers....basic results are, cots die off and are just there to feed the plant till it starts uptaking nutrients from the soil...my most aggressive plant at this time had curled cots...no big deal, IMHO!!! Grow em Big!!! Peace, Wayne

Has anyone had any experience with cot leaves folded over each other just after sprouting ? Does it translate to further problems down the road?
Thanks...Frank

Frank...you are describing a common phenomenon. Usually, they will "straighten out" by themselves. However, if they do not, do not panic. I've grown big pumpkins even with only one dicot leaf!
