I'll be using them this year for the first time. I started making my own late last summer. I got close to a ton of it. Just another hobby raising the worms and the worm casting might make a differences.

Hey Brain
I just ordered a few pounds of worms to start making my own too. How are you storing the casting till you use them? How many worms did you start with, and how many do you have now?
Thanks
Kenny

I store my worm castings in plastic garbage cans with the lid opened a little. I started out with four pounds. Right now I probably got somewhere between 50-60,000 worms. If your really interested Kenny in a great web site that is 100 times better then any web site you will come across about raising compost worms to make worm castings, send me a e-mail. Most of the information you come across doesn't tell you about the material you put in your bins will heat up and kill your worms. Brian at [email protected]

Me, personaly, I went out in this apartment complex and scraped them off the ground, it was so easy and the weather has been so nice I might do it again today. Only I get a few puzzeled looks, and I have to try and explain what I'm doing, I told them the worms are my pets and I'm using a worm poop scooper to clean up after them. (huh) Richard

we have the professsional worm casting from soil soup that we use for brewing tea only.

thousands are under our pile of rabbit manure and those get dropped off in the edges of our patch each spring.

good stuff.

I throw red worms in the patch to do their thing with the OM as well as add castings from a worm composting pile
