Ok well here is who i think will grow a 1500 plus pound pumpkin in 2007:
Ron Wallace Dick Wallace Jack LaRue Ben Parsons Jim Sherwood Steve Daletas Steve Zuhlke Brett Hester Quinn Werner Geneva Emmons Jordan Grimes (Hey I have to have wishful thinking even if it`s not very likely)
(Hint: By the way I claim a seed from the peoples abobe pumpkins 1500 plus pounds, lol)
I would all like to also say Cary Polka will break 1,000 pounds in 2007.
GROW EM BIG!!!!

Wow Jordan, that a lot of 1500+ lbers. I'm going to guess the 1500 lb. mark won't be broken this year. Those growers you listed could be in the vying for largest pumpkin of 2007. I hope you have a great season Jordan. Hopefully I can break 800 lbs. this year.

all i know is that i hope who ever breaks rons record gets the thrill of a lifetime, just like we experienced that sunny october day a frerichs farm.
what could be better, your family there ,your clubs members bull rushing you to lift you onto there shoulders. thats a team folks and when they support you in that matter well? it says an awful lot about those fellow growers.
i cant even begin to explain how exciting it was for everyone that day. even our buddy big dave the hammer was in tears. first time i ever got a bear hug from a guy who stands way over my head. ill never forget it.
its a wonderful feeling .one i hope everyone gets to enjoy or at least be a part of some day.
my personal wishes for those who i feel are over due would be jack l, jerry r. quinn w, joe j and pete g. all have the experience to do it and have been close several times.
but i really dont have a favorite. to many friends and only one world title to be had. lol

Will the real Joe Pukos please sign in? Am I imagining things or did Ed just sign off his post pretending to be me? lol! As far as 1500 pounders, many growers could do it, but I’m thinking it will come from the Wallace patch or Quinn Werner. The real Joe P.:-)

Everyone forget about Bryan Dueck. He has a 998 pukos and you know what he did with the 805. Managed to break the 1300 pound barrier twice with it, about 150 pounds bigger then anyone else. If he grows watch out!!!!

There have been a few very successful Canadians the last few years. Here are some that did well in 2006. Todd Kline (1340 lbs, 1250 and a bunch over 1000) Dave Pitura (1346, 1128 and three others over 1000) Pierre Slusarek (1368, 1310) Edmund Hemphill (1407)
Too many from the States to mention and a few growers here in Europe that might not break 1500 but might break the European record.
Like every year, it's anybody's guess.
