I am looking at my patch drying off and thinking that it is going to rain again next week. I think I will hold off working it up untill the next dry period, hopefully around the 28th. My soils are clay. If you work them, then they get wet again, it just takes that much longer for them to dryout again and warm up.

John I guess I am abit luckier on that note....my soil is sandy loam....I only till the first 3-4" anyway...have half my patch tilled now....will till the other half next week........I don't like to disturb the soil structure to much....hopefully Saturday I will get a couple of greenhouses up....I have two plants that need to see soil very soon...after Tuesday this warm weather will take a dip for a few days according to weather Canada.......wayne

Jane will be tilling this weekend. LOL. I'll watch from the comfort of the deck. Greenhouses will be up this weekend as well. Good luck all.

You guys better get your butts in gear! The kahuna has a clone, a vined plant and two seedlings in today at two locations. I have moved four more plants out on the deck to harden off. Winter is over and the Cornerstone weigh-off Sept.15th is coming on fast, only 147 days left to go.

Put my last ammendments in the patch saturday, will till it all in today and put up hoop houses today or monday evening. Look forward to getting the 846 Calai from Joel Hollands draw. Thanks for all the interest in me getting that seed and for helping make my mind up to put it in the ground. I do realize how lucky I was to win it and will hopefully do it proud. Kirk

Jane got the garden tilled & the hoophouses done. I'll be starting an early seed this week & the rest on the 29th. It's nice to see Ontario growers getting a good start this year. I expect quite a few real big pumpkins will be grown in Ontario this season.

Nice to see you folks are starting to catch up. I'll be ready for you Wayne. John That was because the had his shell it protected him. My seeds have shed their shells and have begun the race.
