Hi Pumpkinlover You will be very close to some of the best growers in the world, located mostly around Napa, which is a short drive from Fairfield. Pete Glacier, Gary Miller, Jose Ceja, & Leonardo Urena, are but a few of the names. They are all very helpful and supportive of new growers to the area. there are many weigh-off opportunities and a great bunch of growers to share and commune with. I can give you contact info if you email me at [email protected]

Joel is right, the Napa growers are a great group of people and there are a lot of weigh-offs in our area. I love the Bay Area. Taking the family to Alcatraz this weekend.

Yeah, but if you read between the lines of Patchy's comment above, what he really wants to say is that he plans beat the pants off the Napa growers this year and he's willing to kidnap them all and lock them up on Alcatraz for the months of June, July and August if that is what it will take. You've got to watch out for those Santa Rosa growers!

HI, Welcome to Northern CA. Is your family in the Air Force? Travis AFB is located in Fairfield. You will get more wind and Delta Breeze than Sacramento. It can also get hot but not humid. You will love the Elk Grove Harvest Festival and Giant Pumpkin Weigh off. I'm about an hr. away. We go through Fairfield on the way to camping and diving on the coast. You are also close to skiing in the Sierras. Welcome Sue

Pumpkinlover.........Suzy is right, you're gonna love the Elk Grove Harvest Festival and Weigh-Off. Also Half Moon Bay and Borchard Farms Weigh-Offs are near by....... and you're gonna love those too. Turkeyman........I've heard that 110 degrees is considered cool in Elk Grove. Most of the time the temps in Fairfield (25 minutes from here) are moderate during the growing season....... it does get windy though. Welcome to the SF Bay Area.
