Fergies, You have a number of proven seeds. How many plants do you want to grow. Are you growing for pure weight/size, or is color a factor to consider?

doug14 i think i only have room for 4 plants, i would say my main goal this year would be weight, as my pb is only 140lb. but colour would be good.

Glad to see the Brits in the thick of it. I've seen more posts by our brothers across the water this year and AG growing seems to have caught on.
I agree with pap.

It's difficult to pick seeds for someone else(I have enough trouble picking for myself LOL). I would guess the following would fetch the highest bids(of those listed) at at a seed auction: 998, 1231, 1097, 1420, 1173... in no particular order....they have all grown some large pumpkins. The 905 Toftness has one 1100+, and 900+ lber. listed on the AGGC. Both were decent orange color. I didn't check the genetics of the others, lesser known ones. If you're a new grower, you may want to grow some of the less sought after seeds this year, to gain experience, and grow the "hot" ones next year. Or grow a couple of "hot" ones and a couple of "cooler" ones. Or go for broke, and grow all "hot" ones, hoping for a monster...the "cooler" could produce a monster as well, though...LOL. It's ultimately up to you.... I hope this helps, and didn't confuse you too much.

Here's my thoughts. Flip a coin between 998 and 1231 can't lose either way and no use in planting both as they are the reverse of each other. 905 Toftness, 1173 Macari and 1420 La Rue. Very fine seeds you have. Best of luck on growing a biggun!
