Just wondering if anybody has started a pumpkin plant hydroponically until transplant,and if so,were there any benefits to this? Any comments would be interesting!!

i know you sent me an email on this also, but I'll respond here.
I tried the hydroponic thing, It lasts about a day, and you need to get a bigger container, then the next day, you nedd a bigger container.
The roots grow too fast, and you'll need 30 people to transplant as you have a system of roots that will be 8 feet long in a week.
You can see the root growth in a gallon pot od dirt. It's no different with hydroponics, they keep growing and growing, and the warmer the water, up to 90 degrees, the faster theroot growth.
I abandoned my attempt after 3 weeks, cause I was scared it was going to attack me.LOL

I have a pumpkin plant and a squash growing hydroponically at the moment....benefits....you can see the roots growing, great to see what seeds are best rooters....my pumpkin plant is smaller but has best root growth.....squash plant is much bigger but root system is smaller....no advantage growing hydroponically other than observation....just a fun winter experience
