What scares me more than your rap. Is your overwhelming desire to wear them fishnet stockings and heels. Sort of like you already have bought them :)

OK Wiz, I was going to let this all pass, and I'm a firm believer that what happens in Niagara, stays in Niagara, But I am coming to the defence of longbeard, as he is telling the truth about you and your cross dressing, I really want to know how you get your makeup so good. So all you great pumpkin growers, here is the Wizz, getting ready for a night on the town. Also a note to all, Be carefull

Ok here’s the deal three years ago I planted an AG seed. Grew a 225 pounder. Thought hey this cool. At the beginning of the second season there was a young man working for the BOSS LADY ( my wife). Heard he liked to garden. Gave him some seed. Kicked my butt with a 425 pounder.Third season kicked my butt again. This clearly has to stop. Gary used to be a reasonably sane individual However this winter has been a little tough on the old boy. He has finally lost his friggin mind. Thinks he’s some kind of Wizard from some place called Pumpkin Ville. I’ve worked hard to improve my Soil, have better Seed and have increased my knowledge base. Hmmm Seems the Wiz is getting a little nervous. :>) Thanks for the support Iceman I’m going to need it.

Captain sees a battle brewing,
Intel reports that the enemy has 3 times as many soldiers/plants as we do. Untested weapons/seed: 792 Wolf, 1010 frantz, 582 Debacco are going to shine. They are my equivalant to the introduction of tanks in wwI. VS wiz's vas collection of proven weapons/seeds. Knowledge of battle field: I don't think Wiz knows the dif from starbored to Port to Bow. But he has seen it once, it was on tv. Things of minor concern: Aparently the enemy has a lot of time on his hands,Three location points, plus organizing a retreat and keeping up on lady's fashions. Wiz what goes with pumpkins, pumps of sandles, and One of our females wear the same clothing will you make a scene? Recon: is not needed, Proven variables: Faith in LT longmont pete, and James. 3 dif staging areas makes for lots of work, will his weapons sufer from in effecinet time management.

Well I never challanged you..pete and I accepted yours.
So we have a battle between southeren colorado growers, Central Growers, and Northern Colorado Growers.
As far as Wyoming growers, with us battling each other, They have some awesome growers in wyoming(for the dry part of the midwest.) they may ambush us and beat us at the weigh off.
Maybe we should drive to wyoming for a weigh off, (I am thinking of doing that)

you guys want some SMACK from neighboring states huh? Well Utah can help with that! lol an you choose Wyoming to challenge? well after we look at this I can tell why... http://www.ipga.us/TTAPumpkins.htm but you forgot about Kansas and New Mexico ... they would have been easier targets, since they aren't on the list at all. But look at all the other Western Rocky mountain states that are above you... AND If you need some more motivation to become better grower look no father than your own state here: http://www.ipga.us/Colorado%20TTA.htm is that up to date? if so nothing much has happened for a few years... I'd be embarrassed if I were a grower in Colorado looking at that. at least Kanas has had a couple new state records in the last 6 years. but if that's not up to date then you guys should still be embarrassed. :O Get your act together and update it. And one last complaint ... what's with all this Rocky Mountain stuff. I'm glad you guys have part of them there in Colorado, and a beautiful part they are ... but I think sometimes you forget that it's just part of them... that a lot of other state have them too... of course maybe I shouldn't be blaming all you for that- after all John Denver did that soon. That pretty much convinced most everyone east of the Mississippi river that the Rocky Mountains were only in Colorado. but you guys live out west and should know better. :) Gordon -proud Utah grower- hope you know it's all in fun... now get your act together so we don't have to embarrass you again in a post next year at this same time.

Me and the Wiz have been brain storming a bit and I thought it would be a good idea for the Rocky Mountain Giant Vegetable Growers club to sponsor a traveling trophy. The trophy would be awarded to the grower of the heaviest pumpkin grown in the following states CO,UT,WY,KS,NM,MT and ID. I will pony up the funds for the trophy. The only requirements would be the Pumpkin must be weighed on a certified scale with witness documentation. The winner of the "cup" would keep it for one year giving it up to the grower of the heaviest pumpkin the following year. Any thoughts?

No doubt Colorado has its problems with the elements; there is a reason why only one pumpkin over 1K has been documented. But I for one am convinced that our challenges can be overcome, be it improved growing methodologies, soil improvements and monitoring, increased vine management, environmental and weather anger management, including grower education and knowledge. Comes down to energy put in is energy returned. If not possible, Master would have never broken 1500! I for one will not rest until I reach my goals and rise to the challenge. "If not us, who. If not now, when? "Undetermined quotation: "Some men see things as they are and say, 'Why'? I dream of things that never were and say, 'Why not'?" Robert Kennedy made this quotation famous during his 1968 Presidential campaign; it has driven me and will continue to for the rest of my life. My Nana of 99 years young, (May she rest in Peace), recognized my determination and encouraged my energy. Colorado WILL grow big, The Rocky Mountain Giant Vegetable Growers Organization, WILL grow big, I am determined and believe........we will rise to the challenge....Encouraged to go forth with tiny ripples of hope, Focusing with each other from different centers of energy and daring those ripples to build a current which can sweep down the mightiest walls, and we shall share.... ....This is no BS, it is what I believe.....We got work to do....and lets have fun doing it....Game ON

well i didn't mean to be so harsh... sometimes the humour doesn't come through well via typing... yup we have a big salty lake.... 7 times saltier than the ocean... and it really sinks sometimes too. UT and CO each have one pumpkin over 1000 and that's it. The CO one was around a long time before Utahs was. Kudos to Joe and Kenny for their accomplishments. 1000+ has been my goal for a several years and I haven't reached it yet so I have work to do also. after that bigger than 1104 is the next goal. James is correct and unforunately CO the hail capital of the world. 10%-30% shade cloth over the entire patch does work great. Also helps during those hot summer days. Just a few years ago I only knew of about 4-5 other growers in Utah. In 2005 we started our club with 7 people ... or was it 9 (regardless it wasn't very many), now we have over 50 growers in state. The wiz is right you guy can do it! Best wishes gordon

Gordon, 50 growers is great The Wiz and I are hoping the sport will take off like that in CO. He has mailed out numerous seed pack's to local folks and we expect to hand out a bunch more at Jareds nursery. If we all work together the 1000 lb mark will fall again out here in the Old West.

Over 50 new seeds paks to new growers delivered in Colorado alone, 70 new growers across the nation, folks who have never heard of BigPumpkins.com, but do after they contact us through ColoradoPumpkins.com, as Im sure other websites have done also..... My daughter has done a great job with the search engine tying it together within some IT wizardry....lol..... We have also sent out seed to 7 European countries that have contacted our site, many young kids or teachers......we believe what comes around goes around, I have this site to thank for that......the great folks that have been kind and have shared with me has motivated me to push it and play it forward...Many of these folks I met at Niagara.....I thank you for helping me, give yourself a pat on the back......
