Anyone till in grass clippings in place of your cover crop in the spring? Would it be the same thing?

The green would add some nitrogen but still not the same as a growing cover crop which provided a root system to the soil for the "off" season. Something the lttle soil critters can survive on while our vines are getting going.

We use the grass clippings as a mulch.

I use grass clippings as mulch, just rember that if you fertilize or add weed killer, DON'T add grass clippings for 2-3 weeks.
