the Ailts/Landry 2006 "Pumpkin Pacer" is great to get an idea of 10+ day circumference growth. However, I would like to know even earlier if my fruit are viable. Can anyone give me some 5 day growth numbers for their fruits?
If this is this just too early to get a good determination, please also tell me.
My 10 ft main vine fruit as of 5 days is 10.5" cicumference.

Way to early you don't even know if its a keeper yet..Sometimes they go through a false pollination and abort.

I'll second Shannon's contribution. However, it would be interesting to determine if Day 0-Day 10 growth is linear. Measure day 5 and let us know if its half of day 10

I will be taking daily measurements from 5 - 10 so I will let you all know. I already realize that if it is linear, it it very bad. The growth has to be exponential for it to even get up to a 20" diameter by day 10.

I meant 20" circumference not diameter.

earliest record I have is day 6 from one year, I was 11.75 inches day 6, hit 22.5 on day 10 with that fruit.
