WOW! I thought this GIANT PUMPKIN hobbie was going to be a snap. Stick a couple of little seeds in the poo, unfold my beach chair, pop a top off a Genny Green and watch my vines grow 2 feet a day (why do pumpkins have to grow two feet a day)? Wouldn't it turn into a centipede?? And will I have to buy shoes for all them feet? All kidding aside. Great website. I have learned a lot today. Keep up the good work. I'm on my way to my 100 pounder. I hope!

Welcome Morris,
If you get the basics down, grow descent seeds, and the weather and your soil is decent, you should have a shot at growing at least a 500-600 lber. My first year I grew a 615 lb. pumpkin. I was surprised! This can be an addicting hobby. Good luck!

Thanx for all the encouragement folks. Got some Dill seeds from my neighbor and DR.Marvin Meisner and some CDs & seeds from J. Holland. That seems like a lot of seeds. My better half says we can roast the left overs in the wood stove oven. I haven't seen that solution in any of the books I have read. What do you think??

AHHHH never roast Atlantic Giant Seeds you must give them to others to plant. Keep some in you Jacket Pocket because people will come up to you and ask for seeds at the oddest times. They make hulless varities for roast which are so much tastier.
