Johnston, R.I.

In our organization there is a person who has gone to great lengths to help the masses. From giving advice to a new grower to helping others find websites and supplies. Giving computer advice, donating his services at on line auctions, to giving unselfishly his time and seeds to help others. A truly good guy and humanitarian. Rumor has it he is giving his time in Niagra making a DVD (which can be purchased for 9.95 psh). Bohica (Tom) Privitera you get my vote for Humanitarian of the year. You truly deserve it.

Norm I couldn't agree more,,Tom is the most helpful person on BP,,he helps all new growers in everyway he can,,,I owe much of my first year success to BOHICA.
I watch him now as he takes the "new generation" of rookies under his wing and gives the guidance that will help them along the way to success.
Anyone with questions always is welcome to email him and he will direct them in the right direction...

Thanks again Tom for all the help !!!

When I was but a wee little pumpkin grower. I met a person who called himself Bohica. Long did I wonder what such a term meant. I would ask yet...he would not tell me. There was this one time when I had a presentation on the qualification of a product. My file was corrupt and would not open. There he sat in the chat room...all alone. Just waiting to help. Ahh the day was saved and the presentation was a success.

Tom has been a great friend. I feel lucky to call him that, considering he has so many. He was there when I needed him. Actually had a one on one(chat, lol) with him a few weeks ago and I learned so much from that. We also talked as friends and it brought some closier for me. For that Tom, I thank you. Its funny we form friendships and aquantainces via this web site even though in a lot of cases we have never met or seen most in person or at a function.

Sometimes you have one picture in mind and when you finally do meet that person they can be all together different from what you had invisioned.

Such was the case when i got to spend quite a bit of time in Toms company this past weekend. Hes a ball of fire and deserves the comments made in the above posts.

I was very happy to have made his aquaintance and now would consider him an unofficial/official/its my call so everyone shut up/ out of town / we want you anyway / sngpg director at large ( the guys a mountain of a man anyways)and a barrel of laughs.

Much the same with Gary "the wiz" from Colorado. He traveled a long way to meet and learn. I wish him well also.
the future of giant pumpkin growing will be well served with people such as this .

We all had a great weekend. the pumpkinfest staff , Russ Landry, Jim Beauchemin, speakers, all did a wonderful job.
Looking forward to seeing everyone again next year (when i get the orange jacket ?) lol

In short i would encourage everyone to try and make these seminars whenever possible. Sometimes life long friendships are formed at such gatherings.

Pap.
