Saw an episode of Dirty Jobs on the Discovery Channel that had a farm that created and sold worm casting fert. It was interesting watching the process. One thing that really was interesting was how much red wigglers love bread. Put a piece of white bread on a compost pile and in a few days, the whole underside of the bread was red wigglers. It also touched on compost tea using worm castings. If you get a chance to see it (or any of the "dirty Jobs" shows, it is interesting.

I raise Red worms for worm casting. I have tried white bread, old donuts and so forth. But when this stuff rots for the worms to eat, it smells. So I stopped using this stuff. But raising they guys is a lot of fun

Dirty Jobs is one of my favorite shows. I also found the "worm growing" episode very interesting.

havent seen that one. Mike Rowe (the host) seems to get caught up in something "poop" related much of the time. You cant help feeling for the guy while laughing at/with him the whole time.
