The best grower in any area is one who helps with advice to other growers, trades seeds honestly, helps out when they can with club events and organizing and enjoys the sport even in the september split blues.

In my area, Boulder County colorado. I have two growers in mind Longmont Pete, and KD, Yes there are other growers in longmont,But they never write or leave posts, never get involved. But Pete has my vote, since i can't vote myself.

I'd say Bill Foss, here in MN. He broke the state record last year(1213 lbs.) and he has had the largest pumpkin at the MN state fair 3 or 4 years in a row, I think.

A real great low keyed grower that you dont hear alot from that keeps to himself. Also not many growers grow his seeds for some odd reason.
Winston Wykcoff (Ranked #7 top grower by the AGGC)

Bart Toftness & Dave Garrell are two VERY disciplined growers. Their patches are always properly pruned & weeded. However demons lurk where plants are grown every year especially where space is limited. Put either of these growers in a large, fresh, deep soil & look out!

We seem to have team growers around here. The Carlson-Petersen team for sure would be at the top. Close behind would be the Trumm family, John Sr and Jr, Josh and Ralph: Bob and Utoni Ruff, and Steve and Any Krug.

We just lost our best grower to the long gourds. Al Eaton was our top grower in Ontario hands-down. Another great grower Bill Greer, was another great Ontario grower. Now that Al's retired, our up & coming stars are Brant Timm, Dave Pitura, Drew Papez, Brian Dueck, Darrell Leonard & Ben Johnson. We have many others that could be named on that list easily, but those are the growers that have had a lot of success the past two years & I expect them to continue that on into the future.

In my area the growers everyone tries to emulate are Bob Liggett, Kenny Speakman & Buddy Conley/Karen Wiget. But if there was one of those that rose above the others I would say Bob Liggett.

I would agree with Geo.napa.ca with Vince Zunino. He is dedicated, scientific, obsessed and willing to help others, probably like most of you as well. He grows fantastic, big, beautiful Atlantic Giants. Tessa
