I have searched in vain for a good supply of manure for my garden and pumpkin patch. Can anyone suggest or supply manure to the Litchfield area? Thank you!

Ferris Farms in Newton is our last working dairy farm in Fairfield, Co. If there is still an Agway in Torrington try calling them. They'll know if there are closer sources.
Mr. Ferris' wife & daughters opened an ice cream shop a couple years ago. Here is the contact info for it. I've misplaced Mr. Ferris' number but they'll have it.
Ferris Acres Creamery 144 Sugar St Newtown, CT 06470
(203) 426-8803
By the way, if you go....the ice cream is made fresh there & the sundaes are to die for. They whip the cream fresh for each one. Mmmmm. The farm is on 302 right off Rt 25.

Look for horse stables, mushroom producers, chickens, llamas and close relatives, worm farms. Only thing better is to make your own compost. I know the makings are available in every community.
