I know alot of growers prune their vines, many prune everyother. The two main reasons being easy access to the plant, and the second so you can get good airflow throughout the plant which would help when it comes to fungi. I get this gut feeling when pruning vines that says its not the best idea. Cutting vines=less of a tap root system. Has anyone tried cutting off the leaves on every other vine and leaving just the vines untouched except where its cut and sank into the soil? Maybe if seems like a far fetched idea.

I read (not sure where) that you should leave about 12 inches of vine before cutting. Then bury the vine to encourage root grouth.
