Kuna, Id.

The stems on some of them are starting to split and leak clear fluid. Been putting cap. on them and have cut back on water.any other ideas would be helpful.

P.S. the cracks are running with the stem and not across them

I had the same thing happen with one of my fruits.I treated with captan and all the splits healed nicely.try to keep it really dry.good luck!!!

lengthwise splits are the normal. They typically superficial and don't extend deep. thats how it enlarges in size.
